Manufacturing with Odoo
Already in the 19th century, John Ruskin said: "Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort."
Odoo - "all you need in one software"

1. Manage, Schedule and Plan

2. Flexible Master Data

As manufacturing can be a complicated process, Odoo offers a variety of tools to make it more flexible:

Multi-level Bills of Materials:

A multi-level BoM is where the primary top-level product and its subassemblies are differentiated. Semi-finished products or subassemblies can be placed with other BOMs, to simplify the production of complex products.

Kits and subcontracting:

Kits allow you to select multiple products and combine them into one package or as various components for manufacturing a product to set bills of materials kit. Subcontracting is also a powerful tool to use when you are low on Human force and want to gain time and money in the process by outsourcing all or a part of the production. You can also manage inventory and oversee subcontractor bills and check the quality of arriving items.

Engineering change orders (ECOs):

The data about engineering change orders will be shown by the ECO(S) smart button, to follow up with new modifications in BoMs and products.

Routings and optional routing:

Odoo allows you to set up the list of Pushes and Pull rules in the manufacturing configuration namely: routes, as well as the ability to organize your manufacturing process based on the routing being utilized, and build new routings for work orders.

3. Product lifecycle Management (PLM)

Managing the product life cycle (PLM) is a critical function in manufacturing businesses, as it allows them to track products from the manufacturing unit to end-of-life.
PLM is also beneficial for efficient financial planning by tracking the product:

  • Engineering Changes: facilitates the management of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Versioning: allows tracking different versions of products and ECOs with their documents.
  • PLM: offers the possibility to merge different ECOs that apply to the same BoM.

4. Quality & Maintenance

Quality control and maintenance essential for manufacturing companies to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.

Quality control

Odoo provides a complete quality control system that helps manufacturers to track and monitor quality at every stage of the production process.

Points of Control

Set up quality checks automatically for the manufacturing division.

Quality Controls

Utilize checks to quickly implement your statistical process control.

Quality Warnings

Utilize the Kanban board overview of quality alerts and arrange your tasks.

After performing quality control, some products require maintenance, for this, Odoo provides a set of automated action that helps fasten the process.

Maintenance in advance

Automatically start maintenance requests using KPIs.

Recovery Maintenance

Automatically conduct corrective maintenance through the control panel.

Implement a calendar for arranging maintenance tasks.

Get insights on the maintenance vital statistics such as MTBR (Mean Time Between Repairs) and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).

5. Work center Control Panel

Odoo facilitates the manufacturing process by giving the possibility to centralize work centers and work orders for each one of them.

Placing tablets at each work center can help employees arrange their tasks effectively.

Provide worksheets in work centers with operator guidelines.

Record productions

Track products by registering or scanning them, by lots or serial numbers.

Deploy alerts to show the operator changes or quality assurance inspections.

Misc Operations

Run Miscellaneous Operations: scrap items, make quality warnings, and run inspections from the work center.

Steps for a work order

Specify several work order stages and connect them to worksheet pages, such as "scan a product," "take a picture," etc...

6. Reporting

Odoo's Manufacturing module is a powerful tool for managing and optimizing manufacturing operations. It provides comprehensive reporting features that allow businesses to track and report on their production processes.

The reporting feature provides real-time data on the production process such as tracking inventory levels, monitoring work in progress, and optimizing production schedules which help to optimize the production process, preventing delays and reducing the risk of errors.

This option is to keep track of the list of components used in Manufacturing.

OEE: Overall Equipment Effectiveness

This allows you to investigate the OEE as well as work centers workloads and productivity impairments.

Cost analysis

Cutting costs can be based on tracking manufacturing order costs of each component and each operation

At SAMSA-IT, our primary mission is to implement Odoo for manufacturing like you to automate your operations and achieve greater efficiency.
